Honoring the King family's services to the community

Dale King came to the United States when he was 10 years old. During World War II, he served in the U.S Army Medical Unit, the California National Guard, and the U.S Navy. Dr. King has been actively promoting the Chinese to the American mainstream for five decades, and has made great contributions to the Chinese community. Moreover, he has held various positions in Chinese councils and associations. For instance, Dr. King has been the President of the Chinese National Welfare Council, Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, and Chinese Chamber of Commerce, etc. Recently Dr. King has been elected as the commander of Cathay Post #384. Most of all, he is a great asset to Chinese Americans and also a distinguished hero in the American society.

Eva King graduated from the Chinese Medicine College in Hong Kong. She is one of the most important contributors to the legalization of Chinese acupuncture in the United States by establishing the first Chinese medicine and acupuncture legalization group. Dr. Eva King realized the importance of the Chinese medicine recognition in the United States, therefore, during her presidency at CCAA, she became an activist in the process of passing the law to legalize acupuncture in a joint effort with other affiliated Chinese medical associations that would enable acupuncture treatments to be covered by the insurance companies in California. The passing of this law has proved to be a stepping stone for the Chinese acupuncture to penetrate into the U.S. health care system. Dr. King is not only a key advocator for Chinese medicine, but also a very active participant in promoting the richness of Chinese culture to the American society. In addition, she is working closely with a plethora of charitable organizations. Her countless recognitions and awards stand as a firm testimony for her great services that contribute to the betterment of Chinese people in America.

Sherman King graduated from UC Berkeley in 1983 with a Bachelor Science Degree in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science and was in the Dean's honor student list. He also received a Master Science degree in EECS, and earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Sherman had worked in an eclectic mix of major semiconductor companies including AMD, LSI Logic, and Auravision, etc. Furthermore, he has been a member of several engineer societies and industrial standard committees such as Asian American Manufacturer Association. Most importantly, he has obtained eight U.S patents in the field of video and computer graphic display systems.
