COMMANDER
PON, BOK
U.S. Army, 1962-1965
Commander Bok Pon was a former paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne Division from 1962 to 1965. Bok Pon had devoted himself to volunteer community services during the past 20 years in numerous organizations/ boards and cracked the Glass Ceiling on February 1995 by elected to the California Republican Party as the State Vice Chairman of the Northern Region. Commander Bok Pon took command of Cathay Post #384 on October 31, 2002 and started a program of Cathay Post #384 Renaissance by setting 3 goals. WONG, EDWARD
U.S. Marine Corps, 1958-1962

As a young man looking for action and brain-washed by the John Wayne war movies, Comrade Ed signed up for the U.S. Marines in 1958. He was sent to San Diego for a 16 weeks of intensive recruit training. Upon completion, he was sent to Camp Pendleton, CA for four weeks of advanced combat training. As a full-fledged Marine, Comrade Ed served in all three divisions of the Marine Corp- from Camp Lejuene, North Carolina to Camp Pendleton, CA and to Okinawa in the Pacific. While in Okinawa, his unit was attached to the U.S. 7th Fleet Pacific and he was fortunate to visit various ports including Hong Kong, Japan, and the Philippine Islands. At the end of his four year service, Ed was honorably discharged in 1962. Because the world was relatively at peace during the period 1958-1962, this gung-ho Marine did not have a chance to see combat action as he had hoped.
